Provence & Languedoc-Roussillon: these two areas are so close, that it is impossible to describe one without doing the same for the other.

The vineyard of Provence is situated between the Rhone delta and Nice. It benefits from the sun, the rugged landscapes and the rocky coast of the Mediterranean. Winegrowing in Provence is magnificent.

Languedoc-Roussillon is situated between the Rhone delta and Spain, that is to say the Cathar land with its medieval strongholds. It is the largest expanse of wine in the World.

The wines of Provence are mainly rosé (80% of the production), but there are also great white and red wines. Tibouren is the grape used for rosé wine. The most famous vineyards of Provence are: Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence, Coteaux des Baux-de-Provence, Bandol, Cassis and Bellet. Discover also Luberon's wines in Menerbes.

The wines of Languedoc-Roussillon are mainly red. Carignan, Cinsault and Grenache are the predominant grapes of the area. Languedoc-Roussillon can be divided into four districts: Roussillon, Corbiere, Minervois and Languedoc.

The wines produced are not the best in France, but they are perfect everyday wines and there are even great AOC wines such as Saint-Chinian, Muscat or Fitou. Wines of Provence perfectly fits with Mediterranean gastronomy: rosé wines with fishes or vegetables, red wines with grills flavored with thyme or games, white wines with goat cheese or seafood.
