ComeToFrance, bonjour! We are home after a wonderful trip.
My husband was very pleased with all the accommodations
and how perfectly everything seemed to work. Thank you for
all your help. My husband and family asked me several times
on the trip if I had "planned" it all this way,
and chosen every hotel and detail. I explained to them that
I spent one year telling Alex what we wanted and he made
the arrangements! You asked for our evaluation and insight
to our experience, here are a few comments. Before the trip,
my biggest concern was that my husband would be able to
sleep well. He is very restless, plus, I didn't tell you
that years ago his brother was attacked in a hotel and left
for dead. That makes my husband a little nervous about hotels.
What he liked about both these hotels were the two sets
of double paned windows in the rooms and the two sets of
doors. That made them very quiet. My husband didn't hear
street noise or hall noise at all. The bed at the Holiday
Inn in Caen was small, but ok. Air conditioning was important
too. We don't use mini bars in the rooms, but I know some
people do. The Hotel Bel Ami was our favorite and I will
be recommending it to other friends. The location was perfect,
the decor beautiful, and the internet connections very useful.
Their breakfast was fine; my husband would have liked a
hot food available for breakfast, but that was not a problem.
The street and the area around Rue Saint Benoit was just
what we wanted. We walked everywhere! We also enjoyed Moulin
Rouge, but I was annoyed with the photo they took of us
there. It was a terrible picture, and the cost is too high
when you must agree to buy it before they even take it.
The food was good, and even though the waiters allowed my
daughter, who is vegetarian, to make a selection from the
menu.
We were very pleased with Gerard and Valerie at the private
transfer company. They were most professional, Gerard is
an excellent and safe driver. I think we might have worn
them out, though. We had Valerie with us going to Normandy,
but that was wonderful. She was most helpful with her English
and also found the tiny little towns on the map that my
husband wanted to go to. She also made restaurant recommendations
to us. Her assistance at the Defense Ministry in Caen was
extremely helpful and my husband was very appreciative that
she also made a phone call for us and got another address
for us to write to about the Croix de Guerre. We also were
most fortunate to find another identical Croix de Guerre
at the Bon March antique store in Paris. It has the same
ribbon, date and bronze star of my husband's father. My
husband bought it for his brother so that each of them would
have one as a memory of their father. We puchased an additional
medal of Verdun which he also was awarded that is the same,
but less important for WWII than for WW I. The WW I memorials
in Verdun were most impressive. What did I like the best?
The fact that my husband got to do what he wanted, and that
Gerard and Valerie would take us anywhere he wanted. It
was most gratifying. My other most favorite thing was the
Notre Dame of Reims. I found it to be more beautiful than
Notre Dame in Paris, with more significant history. The
Marc Chagall windows there were just spectacular. I did
love the d'Orsay and the Louvre, but I need to spend many
more days there to absorb it all. I need to research two
paintings I saw there, and want to find out more about.
My husband (and one son-in-law) are not museum lovers, but
they did well. We walked from the Louvre to the Arc and
back to Notre Dame one day. It was tiring, but beautiful.

are so powerful!) Many thanks and I hope we have another
opportunity to work with you again. Do you have any observations
for us about our trip? Anything we might have done differently??

highlight of our trip. We had the best table - right at
the bow of the boat. The food and the service were marvellous
- and of course the atmosphere was perfect! What a perfect
evening!!

we had a really wonderful time in Paris and Moulin Rouge
was the highlight of our trip. It was our 25 wedding anniversary
and that is why we selected Moulin Rouge. We wanted to do
something really special - mind you, just being in Paris
again was special in itself - but the Moulin Rouge was very
very special and we loved it. Thank you for your service.
It was great to know that it was booked and paid for in
advance and there were no problems at all on the night.
The food was great and as I say, it was a very special night
for us both and the highlight of our trip. Thanks again.

I arrived home to Florida at 23 hours, January 1, 2003.
Paris was tres bien!!! Your services were tres bien. My
name was on ALL of the lists you made reservations for me
/ us. I believe you are offering a good service for I had
to go only to you to make all of my reservations. There
is simply so much to see in Paris and outside of Paris.
The tours make it easy and convenient to be able to see
a lot of the beauty and wonder of Paris. We all especially
liked the Paris Vision tours by vans. I enjoyed the small
group and the knowledgeable commentary on what we were seeing.
Again thank you. I am very happy that all of our tours worked
