The village’s silhouette is rhythmed by its religious buildings. After the Benedictines in the 8th, the Ursulines and the Dominicans settled in the 18th and 19th. Dedicated to St Genest, the parochial church displays adorned slabs. Flavigny is also a city of craftsmen and traders whose wealth is shown in la maison du Donataire. Flavigny has kept the Val and Bourg gates from its medieval fortifications. From the old watchtower one can make out the green hills of Auxois.
