The episcopalian city of Cousernas is a witness to 2000 years of glorious history.

4 monuments are word-class heritage. The cathedral of St Lizier dates to the 11th. many statues can be seen there. Near the cathedral, the Hotel-Dieu ( Hospital) has an 18th pharmacy. In the upper part of the village bound by a gallo-roman wall, with its twelve towers and 2 gates, the 2nd cathedral, ND-de-la-Sède, is under restoration. It is close the bishops’palace, now a museum of popular arts.
